Learning outcomes

  • Import and normalize a construction ledger for audit

  • Rank findings by severity and open questions
  • Export a memo structure suitable for owner review
  • Adapt cost-code trees used in Taiwan(China) projects

Modules

Six studios, one continuous dataset

1 · Ledger intake

Map roles, import a sanitized project file, and reconcile opening balances against the contract sum.

2 · Cost-code hygiene

Collapse duplicate codes, flag orphan charges, and document dictionary decisions for later reviewers.

3 · Change-order trails

Trace verbal extras, late signatures, and period mismatches using the auditing app’s evidence linker.

4 · Progress claims under pressure

Compare billed percentages to photo logs and delivery notes; write short, factual exceptions.

5 · Retention & release logic

Model release conditions and catch premature release requests before they reach finance.

6 · Findings memo lab

Assemble severity ranks, open questions, and exhibits; submit one memo for coach feedback.

Reviews

“Module 3’s change-order trail is the piece I still open when a GC sends ‘as discussed on site’ with no date stamp.”

Short take: memo lab feedback was specific. Sample photos skew daytime—night paving jobs need your own naming rules.

FAQ

Questions before you enroll

Do I need a specific auditing app license?

Exercises run in Connectifynet’s practice environment. Concepts transfer to common construction audit tools, but we do not ship vendor licenses.

Is this a substitute for a CPA or licensed auditor?

No. The course teaches operational audit literacy for project teams. It does not authorize statutory audits or sign-off opinions.

What is a real limitation of the program?

The practice dataset cannot cover every trade. Specialized packages—marine works, medical gas, or heritage conservation—require you to extend the method with your own evidence standards. We do not pretend otherwise.

How is coach feedback delivered?

One findings memo review via annotated PDF within ten business days of submission during your access window.
